ARBUCKLE IN COURT.
CHARGE OF MURDER LIKELY.
TRIAL POSTPONED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 18, 5.5 p.m. San Francisco, Sept. 16. Arbuckle was arraigned, at the Police Court for the preliminary hearing of the murder charge, and the Judge agreed to continuance for five days. The district attorney declares that he hopes to bring the comedian to trial within three weeks on a murder charge, not on two charges of manslaughter. Arbuckle is showing strain, pacing his cell till mid-night.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. A FILM BURNED. Received Sept. 18, 11.5 p.m. New York, Sept. 17. One hundred and fifty cowboys and cattlemen entered a Wyoming theatre, where an Arbuckle film was showing, and seized the film and burned it in the street. The manager of the theatre stated that the Purity League had requested that the film should not be shown, but he saw no reason to acquiesce.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
