At a conference of the Labor Party the president, in his opening address, said that although the population of Australia was most meagre in point of density, yet judging from the amount of unemployment and the prospects of still greater unemployment, it was over populated. After discussion of a motion that the socialisation of industry be the objective of the Labor movement, it was agreed to refer the matter to a committee appointed for that purpose.
