REVENUE INCREASING.

Mure passengers.

Last month the revenue from the New Plymouth tramways was £216 16s 4d more than in August of 1920, the number of additional passengers carried being 16.563. The total of fares collected was £1560 7s Id, of which £9l 16s 4d came from the Morley Street route, and the balance was from the main route.

In his monthly report the tramways manager (Mr. R*. H. Bartley) states:— “Good progress has been made with the erection of the new cans, two of which are practically completed with the exception of the final adjustments, which are .being left till all three cars are ready for the road. The service has been maintained as per timetabe and has been uninterrupted.”

THE ELECTRIC ’BUS. RECORD RETURNS. Reporting on this service, Mr. Bartley states: The returns for the month are the highest that we have yet reached, and show an increase, as compared with last August, of £3l 7s and‘2962 additional passengers have been carried.
