TE HENUI LADIES’ GUILD.
SUCCESSFUL SALE OF WORK. The annual .sale of work, organised by the Ladies’ Guild of the Te Henui Anglican Church, took place yesterday afternoon and evening, and proved a thorough success. The hall adjacent to the church was the centre of activities, and here the various stalls, tastefully set up and laden with all manners of articles, were ranged round the walls, and judging by the large crowd besieging the good business must have resulted. A marquee had been erected near the hall, and here afternoon tea was served. Following is a list of the stalls and stall-holders: ’’•’anoy Stall: Mesdames Waters and I-larrison. Flower Stall: Mrs. Johnson and Miss Marshall. Sweets Stall: Mesdames Akers and White, and Misses Giblin and Harding. Jumble Stall: Mesdames Foote, Beale and Fox, and Miss Foote. Produce Stall: Mesdames Cholnieley, Groome and Lowe. Afternoon Tea: Mesdames Greatbach, Fairha.ll, Grover, and Misses Black, Greatbach, and Whitcombe (2). Bran Tub: Miss Harrison. Soft Drinks: Miss Bree. From the financial point of view the function proved very satisfactory, the gross takings being over £9O.
