ARBUCKLE INDICTED. MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Sept. 14. The Grand Jury at San Francisco indicted Arbuckle on a charge of manslaughter. California being nominally dry, the Californian prohibition director examined Arbuckle with a view to securing information as to where the liquor allegedly consumed at the party which ended in Miss Rappe’s death was obtained. He spent an hour in futile questioning. The only reply Arbuckle made was that he never had any liquor.
ARBUCKLE SILENT. Received Sept. 16, 1.5 a.m. New York, Sept. 14. Arbuckle refused to testify at the inquest ou Miss Rappe. BAN ON PICTURES. WITHDRAWAL IN AUSTRALIA. Received Sept. 15, 9.45 p.m. Melbourne, Sept. 15. The controllers of Arbuckle films have withdrawn the circulation of all Arbuckle pictures in Australia.
