RAPID STEAMER SERVICE. 'DOMINION TO ENGLAND. JOURNEY IN 19 DAYS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-— Copyright, Received Sept. 16, 1.5 a.m. London, Sept. 14. The Daily Mail states that a scheme for an accelerated State-controlled steamship service linking up the Dominions and England is being considered by the Imperial Shipping Committee. It provides for a fleet of eight fast vessels of 50,000 tons, of high power turbine engines, oil-burning, and capable of a speed of twenty-six knots in the transAtlantic run and twenty-five elsewhere. They will have accommodation for six hundred first and three hundred secondclass passengers. _ . The proposed services will bring Halifax within four days and. Vancouver within eight and a half days of Liverpool, while the journey from Liverpool to Sydney, via Vancouver, will take twenty anil a half days, and. to New Zealand nineteen days, a decrease of ten days. The South African service, fortnightly from Plymouth to Capetown, will take ten days.—United Service.
