REVIVAL IN DOMINION.
MOUNT EGMONT ROAD RACE.

The conference of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union has opened. It was stated by the president (Mr. Kennedy) that the uion now controlled practically all athletics, cycling and wood-chopping throughout New Zealand. The finances of the union were healthy and it was hoped, during the coming reason, to revive the pre-war bicycle road races, Timaru to Christchurch, and around Mount Egmont. A committee was set up to revise the rules for the axemen’s competitions, and it was decided to appoint one handicapper for all the wood-chopping events in the North Island.
