RATANA IN TARANAKI.

A HURRIED VISIT. Ratana, the Maori “Miracle Man,” arrived in New Plymouth by motor yesterday from Wanganui. He did not stay long, leaving early in the afternoon for the White Cliff*. He is accompanied by his wife and children, and a chauffeur.

In conversation witli Mr. W. J. Gray, of Okato, Ratana said he would have come to North Taranaki some two months or more ago, when he was expected to open the new concrete meeting house at Waitara, but from what transpired he got the impression that he was not wanted, and £o did not come. If, however, his people desired him tc pay a visit to them foe would gladly do so.

His movements after visiting White Cliffs are not known, Ratana preferring to keep his own counsel.
