HASTINGS SAFE ROBBERY. By Telegraph —Press Association. Hastings, Sept. 13. Westerman and Co.’s drapery premies were broken into between Satorday night and Monday morning. The safe was opened and about £l5O largely in cash, was taken. CECILIA SUDDEN INQUIRY. Auckland, Sept. 13. An inquiry into the fire on the Cecilia Sudeten, off the Great Barrier, was held by the Peruvian Consul to-lay. The evitlenee showed that the fire was accidentally caused by the spontaneous combustion of the coal. The captain and the crew, knowing the risk of fire from coal cargoes, took all possible p'-e--cautions and did all possible to save the ship when the fire was discovered. A report to that effect will be sent by the Consul to the Peruvian Government.
