BTI’.ATFOHD AGENCY. Advertisements and items of news for publication in ti e Taranaki Daily News should be left at the office of our local representatives, Wilson Bros., Broadway, Stratford. Or. dera for papers may also be left with. them. PERSONAL. Sept. 12. Mr. C. Lowe is leaving Stratford to take up residence in New Plymouth at the end of this week. During the past two years he has been a familiar figure in this district, and lie will be missed by a large number of friends, especially in musical circles. He. is first violinist in the Egmont Club orchestra, who will lose a first-class performer. Everyone will wish him the best of fortune in New Plymouth. GENERAL. The police and the borough inspector have been on a keen look-out for breaches of the traffic by-laws in the borough during the last few weeks, and many unsuspecting motorists and drivers of other vehicles who have been perhaps a little less careful than they might have been, have attracted more attention than they might think desirable to themselves. There are many who come to the border line of a breach of some by-law without actually committing a broach, but they are advised to be very careful, as the city guardians miss very little. A fancy-dress hockey match, which will be held in Victoria Park next Thursday afternoon in aid of the local hospital, is arousing a great deal of interest. The Egmont ladies’ team is to play against a team of men, who will be clothed in female attire. A posse of comic “lady” policemen will patrol the side lines and keep the spectators from encroaching on the field of play. The match should provide a grear deal of amusement. A special prize has been offered for the best costume. It is hoped that a good crowd of spectators will be present and help to swell the contributions. THE KING’S CINEMA THEATRE. TO-NIGHT! “GO AND GET IT.” There are so many real thrills and so much absorbing interest in this astonishing dramA, that mere words cannot describe its fascination. “Go and Get It,” four words well known to every newspaper man. is an ample title, and surely never was a. play or picture shown that contained such an admirable tribute to the reporter. Perils and excitement are the order of this big picture, which contains aerial stunts on the part of Pat O’Malley, in the role of a young reporter, hot on the scent of a big and baffling mystery, that .»ro simply awesome. Tn addition the theme is enthralling in itself; that or the transference of the brain of a criminal to a. huge gorilla, who afterward - Incomes a sort of (Frankenstein. Marshal Neilaff has not altogether forgotten his old trick of putting in the human shading in every scene: also of supply'nir a cast of uniform excellence. Pat O’Malley is a credit to the craft that is responsible for news hounds, and Agnes Aire-would brightens the corner of any publication clever enough to eive her a desk in its editpria l rooms.
