Super merinos and fine crossbreds wore 5 per cent, higher, mediums increased 10 per cent, and coarser grades f» to 10 per cent. NEWTON KING, LTD. Newton King, Ltd., reports:— At Urenui on the sth Inst., a good yarding of sheep and cattle came forward, and almost a complete clearance at the hanimer' was made. Prices throughout compared favorably with late sales. Hoggets 10s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 10s, fat 4 and 6-tooth do. 14s lOd, 18s, yearling steers 12s 6d, 16s, 26s 6d, 2-year-old do. £2 6s, 3%-year do. £3 4s 6d, store cows 20s, 30s, forward do. £2 2a 6d to £4 15s, fat cows £5 15s, £6 2s 6d, empty heifers £5 14s 6d, yearling do. 365, £2 9s, £3 Is, Jersey do. £4 12s, £6, choice do. £7 16s, £9 2s 6d, springing heifers, backward cal vers £7, £», better sorts £ll 10s, £l2, £l4 10s, to £l6 10s, dairy cows, inferior £7, £8 10s, better quanty do. £ll 10s, £l3 ss, £l5 ss, Jersey do. £l7 10s, 1 £2O, £25 10s. At Stratford, on the 6th inst., a full yarding in both store and dairy sectiona were submitted to keen enquiry. Young cattle, good heifers especially, still continued to attract considerable attention, and for thia class values showed a slight increase. Helfers and cows of the Jersey strain and close to profit were keenly sought after. Prices for
other classes were on a par with recent sales. At Inglewood, on the 7th inat., store cattie were yarded In good numbers, and practically every pen changed hands at the hammer. With few exceptions late rates prevailed. A big entry of dairy cattle met with a bright sale.
