BREAKS WHEN CROWDED. MANY DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Preur As.m —Copyright. Received September 11, 11.5 p.m. New York, Sept. 10. According to a message from Chester, Pennsylvania, twenty men, women and children are known to have been drowned, and at least twenty more are believed to be at the bottom of a tributary of the Delaware River, as the result of an old wooden bridge collapsing. A little boy had fallen into the water, and crowds congregated on the bridge to watch the rescue, with the result that the structure became overloaded. Besides the above casualties forty persons were injured.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
