HOCKEY.
THE LADIES’ TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, Sept. 10. The annual tournament under the aegis of the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association commenced to-day, fourteen teams competing, the largest entries yet received. Play was divided into two sections, tv\o games in the morning and four in the afternoon. The results of this morning’s games are: A section.—Feilding 0, Wairarapa 3. B section.—Otago 9, Manawatu B 1. Later. A section.—Poverty Bay 3, Taranaki 1; Wanganui 0, Hawke’s Bay A 3. B section.—Hawke’s Bay B 3, Auckland 2; Marlborough 1, Wellington 8.
