A CYCLING RACE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright New York, Sept. 5. Alfred Grenda and Clifford Papworth won the 100 kilometre bicycle team race, defeating Goullet and Rutt, who took second place. Macnamara and Madden, Egg and van Kempson, and others competed. BITTEN BY A "MONKEY. Geneva, Sept. 0. Mademoiselle Nicoud, aged 17, while caressing a monkey at Emontreux, was bitten and contracted the same disease as the late King of Greece. She was sent to a. hospital and is in a. very serious condition. GERMAN DYES DEARER.' London, Sept. 6. In reference to German dyes, the Yorkshire Observer states that the Germans have increased the charges for dyeing by 300 per cent, on account of the increased cost of labor and fuel. German dyes themselves are considerably cheaper than three months ago and the German tendency continues downward.
