WESTFIELD MARKET.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At Westfield, beef prices dropped from £2 to 50s a head, being lower than for many years. There was a full yarding, unfinished stock being hard to sell. Extra prime ox made 30s per lOOlbs., prime 28s to 235, plain 15s to 20s; cows, prime 24s to 18s, plain 14s to 18s. Sheep.—A large yarding. Prime sheep maintained late rates, but forward met with a slack sale. Extra prime wethers 2Cs, prime 24s to 20s, unfinished 18s, 13s 3d; ewes, best 20s, prime 18s, 14s, others 13s, 10s. Calves were in moderate supply and met with a good demand for finished vealera. Runners £6 to £4, vealers £4 to £2 10s, fresh dropped Ss to ss. Pigs.—A small yarding, with improved demand in some cases, pigs bringing Is per lb. Baconers £6 15s to £5 10s, choppers £6 5s to £5, porkers £4 10s to £3. There was a keen demand for all stores. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Received September 7, 8.35 p.m. Sydney, September 7.
