LABOR CONFERENCE.

UNEMPLOYMENT AND IMMIGRATION. PROPOSALS TO BE FRAMED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. An important conference of Labor organisations, convened by the Alliance of Labor, assembled at the Trades Hall this morning to discuss the questions of unemnloyment and immigration. Altogether there were 72 delegates present, representing 100,000 workers throughout the Dominion. Mr. W. J. Mack (secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants) presided, and Mr. J. Roberts (secretary of the Waterside Workers’ Federation) was appointed secretary'. The conference is not open to the Press. The proceedings of the conference are likely to last for several days, as it is intended to frame definite proposals regarding both of the subjects under consideration.
