INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, DOMINION'S REPRESENTATION. MR. MeLEOD FAVORED. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Christchurch, Laet Night. < Regarding the International Rugby Conference, the Cantei’bury Union decided. to-night to inform the New Zealand Union that it was unanimously of opinion that Mr. J. S. McLeod, president of the parent body, should be one of the Dominion’s representatives at the conference. CAUSTIC COMMENTS. ON UNION OFFICIALS. A CONDEMNATORY RESOLUTION. Christchurch, Last Night. Some caustic comments on the general conduct last Saturday at the test match against New South Wales by the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, and the selectors, also on the treatment of the players before and after selection for that match, and for the next test match against the : Springboks, was made at to-night’s meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union, especially by the chairman (Mr. S. F. Wilson). It was eventually decided: “To condemn the method of selection and the treatment of the players after selection for test matches, and the unbusinesslike manner adopted by the management committee of the New Zealand Union regarding the mobilisation of the New Zealand team for the match against New South Wales.” THE MAORI TEAM Napier, September 6. The following team will represent the New Zealand, Maoris in their match with the Springboks at Napier to-mor-row:—Full-back, T. Kuru; three-quart-ers, J. Blake, Barclay, and Tapsell; five-eighths, Turn and Peina; half-back, Mill; rover, Jacobs; forwards, Mitai, Kororiko, B. Gemmell, Grace, Garlick, Broughton and Te Whata. Reserves: Edwards, M. Blake* Tangitu, Carrol, Or-, mond.
CIVIC RECEPTION. TO NEW SOUTH WALES TEAM. Wellington, Last Night. The visiting New South Wales footballers arrived this morning, and were tendered a civic reception, which was attended by the Hon. J. G. Coates (Minister of Public Works), on behalf of the Government. The team meets Weilington to-morrow, and much interest is being taken in the game. THE TTHRD TEST. EMERGENCY PLAYER DROPPED. Christchurch, Last Night. Evans, the Canterbury full-back, who was one of the twenty men selected to practice at Wellington for the third test match, was to-day informed he would not he needed.
