Cablegrams continue to show a ging in the butter market in London. does not, however, follow that the new" make of New Zealand -butter, which will arrive in London in November, will ix alise no more than the current rates. The new butter will arrive at the beginning and all through the northern winter up to April, and sales are confidently expected to realise a consistent equivalent of 2s to 2s Id per pound f.0.1i. in bulk. The Government butter referred to in the cables is old butter that has long been in store.
It is understood that all offers for the purchase of new butter for shipment overseas have now ceased, and thus practically all the exportable mizptowill go Home on consignment. Tke? Vancouver market will also be kept view.
The local wholesale price for butter to-day is 2s Ifd per pound in pats and delivered. Retail business is being done to-day at 2e to 2e 3d in Wellings ton.
