WEST COASTERS’ ASSN

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the West Coaster&’ Association was held in. tlMfc Soldiers’ Club on Saturday evening, ! when there was an attendance of over, 100, including visitors from Kaponga and Hawera. Mr. J. Griffin presided* and a most enjoyable time was spent*. Selections were given by the West Coasters’ orchestra, comprising Messrs. Ellis (violin), Lomas (cornet). Dear®, (flute), and Geo. Lomas (piano), whilst songs were given by Miss James (Hawera), and Mr. Lomas. Mr. Valentine also gave some interesting reminiscences of the southern part of Westland. >A, couple of competitions were held during; the evening, the winners being Mrs.' Warner (nursery rhymes), and MisS. James (trades competition). After per had been handed round and enjoyed? dancing was indulged in to music provided by the West Coasters* orchestra, Messrs. Lomas and Thompson acting as M.C.’b.
