WEST SYDNEY ELECTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received September 4, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, September 4. Lambert was elected for West Sydney by a majority of 2607, this being 6142 less than Ryan’s majority. Henry (Nationalist) polled 5040 oat of’ 13,271 votes polled. The election was fought with great bitterness, but the number of votes polled was much smaller than at the previous contest.—United Service. FLOUR MILLS CLOSING. Sydney, Sept. 3. The majority of the flour mills in the city and country will probably close in consequence of the high price of wheat and the inability of millers to dispose of their surplus stock of bran and pollard at the prices offering. Of 1000 mill employees in the union 400 have been given notice of dismissal.
