£l5OO DAMAGES RECOVERED. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Supreme Court has been occupied for two days hearing a petition by Mattio Natal Sarcich for a dissolution of his marriage with Eileen Sarcich on the ground of adultery with George Vance Shannon, a grazier, from whom £2OOO damages was claimed.

Petitioner is an Austrian and a carrier residing at Plimmerton, and it was alleged that respondent was guilty on many occasions of misconduct with co-respondent, who, it was alleged, openly claimed to be the father of her youngest child. The defence was a d6nial of the allegations. Respondent admitted that owing to trouble with petitioner she went to Wanganui, where Shannon had taken a farm, taking the youngest child with her, and she had acted as Shannon’s housekeeper, receiving thirty shillings weekly. 1 The jury returned a verdict in favor of petitioner, and awarded £l5OO damages against co-respondent.
