FRANKLEY ROAD TELEPHONE.
ERECTION ASSURED. A telephone service to thi Frankley Road district is now assured. At th< annual meeting of the local dairy fac tory company last night the aecretarj explained that for some years the Government had liad an application from the district in hand, but there was no material available to provide the service. As, a result of representation by Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P., the Government had now notified that the necessary material was available and on a guarantee of £2l to cover the estimated loss on the service for the year being forthcoming, the erection would be proceeded with. It was announced that the directors of the factory had decided to make the necessary guarantee on behalf of the resident* ol the district and <1 resolution confirmina the directors’ action was carried unanimously. It was decided that the most suitable place to establiflh a bureaux was at the factory manager's house.
