DAIRY COMPANIES.

CARDIFF DAIRY COMPANY. The annual meeting of the Cardiff Dairy Company was held on Monday night, Mr. J. T. Belcher (chairman of directors), presiding. The report and balance-sheet were adopted.

Mr. D. Shannon was elected a director, Messrs. D. Brunton and J. B. Cleunow being re-elected, and Mr. A. Coleman was re-ap-poh.ted auditor.

Jt was decided to recommend to the directors that the factory should, during the winter, open as often as was necessary to receive home-separated cream.

Tie chairman stated that data was being collected relative to utilising water power to provide electricity to run the machinery. He also stated that the season's output was being consigned through Messrs. Weddel and Co., the directors having the option of selling at any time they thought fit.

A motion was passed placing ou record appreciation of the services rendered to the company by the late Mr. W. Richards and the late Mr. ,T. Watkin. KAHUI. (I’fom Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Kabul (near Rahotu) Dairy Company, was held on the 22nd inst., Mr. W. Fleming (chairman) presiding over a good attendance of members.

The report stated:—"The advances made on milk during tlio season averaged 2s per lb of butter-fat, and after paying working and other expenses there was a balance available of £4,078 Jjs lid, equal to a further 9d per lb on butter-fat, or a total of 2s 9d. Of this balance the directors have allocated £ll6 Ils 2d to depreciation, being 5 per cent, on buildings and 7% per cent, on plant. The balance after payment of 5 per cent, on paid up capital will allow further payments for milk of S’Xjd per lb of butter-fat. The satisfactory results shown are due to the fact that the directors decided to sell the output. Statistics : —Milk received, 2,793,6361bs ; but-ter-fat, 108,919.Gib5; average test 3.894 per cent.; cheese made, 275,9421b5; ' weight of cheese to lb of butter-fat 2.5331b5; weight of milk to ib of cheese 10.1341b5; butter made, 14,6181b5. The chairman congratulated suppliers on the very successful year resulting from the action of the directors in selling the output. A long discussion took place on the subject of the sale oi stores to suppliers. The matter of the disposal of this years’ output was left to the directors. Mr. \V. Fleming was re-elected chairman of directors.
