PUBLICITY WANTED.
THE DEBATE ON DISARMAMENT. GREAT ISSUE INVOLVED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—copyright. Received August 30, 5.5 p.m. New York, August 29. Senator Borah, speaking at Asbury Park, New Jersey, said: “Let us have a little more democracy in foreign affairs and let those who must bear the burdens of suffering know what is done while it is being done. Pry open the doors of the conference. Things are being done inside and plans are being made which involve all you hold dear. Let us know what is being done before it is concluded, in order that public opinion may have a moulding and directing effect. Let responsibility, above all, be fixed, and then let public opinion lash from power those who betray a great cause.”—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
