A quarter of a. million employees are involved. RAILWAY ACCIDENT IN ITALY. Rome, August 28. A train filled with seaside visitors from I.adispole collided with a goods train at Magliana. Thirty were killed and 100 were injured. WORKERS WAGES REDUCED. Jjondpn, August 28. Wage reductions, aggregating many I millions sterling, affecting 300.000 Civil Servants, 160.000 of the staffs of municipal and local authorities. 700,000 builders, and 500,000 agricultural workers, will commence in September. TROUBLE IN VIRGINIA. Washington. August 26. Civilians armed with nuwhine-guns'l are awaiting in the mountain passes the army of miners who are advancing into the Mingo country. Reports state the miners are cutting telegraph and telephone wires. Later information states the fear of Federal intervention has caused the miners to halt on their march, their leaders persuading them to abandon the invasion of the Mingo country.
