CONFLICT IN VIRGINIA.

A telegram from Charleston, Virginia, states’ that despite tho belief that the miners would abandon the invasion of Mingo County and that no conflict would occur, the miners ambushed a party of State police. In the ensuing fight five miners were shot dead and a number were taken prisoner. Serious trouble is now expected. It was recently reported that a column of armed miners were marching on Mingo County as a protest against martial law being declared.
