ARBITRATION COURT.
THE WATERSIDERS' DISPUTE.
By Telegraph—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. Important questions have been referred to the Arbitration Court by the Wellington Waterside Employment Association in regard to waterfront conditions of work. The points in question, which had already been referred to a committee of representatives of the Waterside Workers’ Federation and Employees, were whether the payment of an additional Id per hour to waterside workers was to be regarded as part of the wages or as a bonus: an to whether the number of men in a meat gang included those men employed on stages in the hold delivering meat by sheets to the place of storage. The committee had been unable to arrive at any decision. The subject was argued at length, the employers holding that the 1 payment was a bonus. The Court adjourned.
