HALF-YEARLY MEETING. B> .Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, August 27. At the half-yearly meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, it was stated that solicitors had agreed to include in the articles of association of public companies a clause that the auditing must be done by registered public accountants. The report presented by a su-b-copimit. tee stated that the accountancy examinations were now the largest conducted by the University of New Zealand, and the committee of the Senate had promised to bring forward at the next meeting representations regarding the standard of the • ’ply’s examinations and the personnel of examiners.
Grants of £lOO each were made to Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin University Colleges.
A committee was set up to report to the next meeting on the question of professional etiquette.
Mr. G. W. Hutchison, of Auckland, Was elected president, and Mr. T. Morrison, of Christchurch, vice-president.
