FOURTEEN YEARS’ GAOL
SENTENCE FOR MANSLAUGHTER.

Wanganui, August 26. John Kinsella, who was found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the Mangamahu tragedy, was sentenced this morning to 14 years’ hard labor. Mr. Justice Husking intimated that the prisoner was exceedingly fortunate that he was not receiving a sentence on a more serious charge. He intimated that the Act of last session would permit prisoner’s case being reviewed by the Prisons Board, and he would not lose hope during the substantial term.
