ELTHAM DAIRY COMPANY.
ANNUAL REPORT. The annual general meeting of shareholders of the Eltham Co-operative Dairj’ Factory Company will be held to-day, when the annual report to be presented will be as follows: In. presenting the 29th annual report and balance-sheet, your directors have to congratulate shareholders on a very successful year’s operations. The output fop the year shows a slight increase over that of last year, and is again a record. The average price paid for butterfat during the year was 2s per lb, and after taking in stocks and shipments unsold on a conservative basis, the balance to the credit of working account will admit of a further payment of 6.02 d per lb—making the total payment over 2s 6d per lb. This is the highest payment in the history of the company, and will, no doubt, be looked upon as highly satisfactory. A payment of 2%d per lb butterfat was made on July 20 last, and the balance will be paid out when all accounts have been settled. Owing to the switching over from cheese to butter during the season, the whole of the butter plant had to be thoroughly/' overhauled. This accounts for the increase in repairs and renewals. It is with regret that your directors record the death of Mr. R. H. C. Boyle, who for many years occupied the position of general manager of the company. Sir. W. Smith has been appointed to fill the vacancy. The retiring directors are Messrs. Campbell, Linn and Robertson. These gentlemen are eligible and offer themselves for re-election.
