ENGINEERS’ EXAMINATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. , Regulations gazetted regarding the examination of engineers for the mercantile marine provide that certificates of competency will be granted to British subjects who pass the requisite examinations and comply. with the requisite conditions. Examiners are appointed, and arrangements made for holding examinations in the following places during the first three working days in the months named, in each case except Auckland: At Auckland during the first three working days after the 14th day in the months of January, March, May, July, September and November; Hamilton, January, May and September; Napier, February, June and October; Wanganui, February, June and October; Palmerston North, February, June and October; Wellington, February, April, June, August, October and December; Nelson, February, June and October; Greymouth, February, June and October; Christchurch, January, March, May, July, September and November; Timaru, March, July and November; Dunedin, February, April, June, August, October and December; Invercargill, April, August and December; Gisborne, February, May, August, and November. In cases of emergency the examiners will exercise discretion and examine candidates at other than the prescribed periods.
