JAPAN WILL ACCEPT. INFLUENCE OF WOMEN. A DELEGATE PROBABLE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Tokio, August 17. The Japanese acceptance of the formal invitation to the Washington Conference is being forwarded in a few days, after submission to a Cabinet council. Admiral Kato, who has been selected as naval delegate, says that the Japanese naval authorities have been studying disarmament since Senator Borah's resolution, which preeaged President Harding’s proposal. Received August 18, 10.20 p.m. Washington, August 17. It is understood that President Harding, replying to a delegation from the National League of Women Voters, who asked for the appointment of a woman delegate at the armament conference, said he was very anxious io have the influence and intuition of a woman utilised' at this great conference and such an arrangement .was being worked out satis-factorily.—Aus.-N.Z.
