THE PEOPLE’S. LAST NIGHT OF TOM MIX IN “THE TEXAN”. Up at the People’s Theatre Tom Mix is doing things in “The Texan”, the latest William Fox screen Western play ending to-night. “The Texan” is an unusual story about a cowpuncher who was different from other kinds of cowpunchers. Tom Mix, of course, is Tex Benton, the Texan—wilder and a whole lot more skilful than the others. Otherwise he wouldn’t have won the championships at the big rodeo. The story keeps gathering speed as it goes along, and it runs into the last yeel like a bullet from Tex’s six-gun. If you like the West, and like Tom Mix, and like Gloria Hope, the leading woman, you’ll like “The Texan”. Tom Mix is Tom Mix all over, with new - daredevil stunts every few feet. And Gloria Hope, the auburn-haired, is as winsome as ever. A big »Sunshine comedy and gazettes are also on the bill. EVERYBODY’S. H. B. WARNER IN “UNCHARTED CHANNELS”. Stirring action, good acting and pleasing humor are the principal ingredients of “Uncharted Channels”, starring H. B. Warner, commencing at Everybody’s to-night. The picture shpws Mr. Warner in a delightfully new characterisation which serves to emphasise this capable actor’s versatility. He is given satisfactory support by a cast which includes Kathlyn Adams, a screen actress of long experience, and Sam De Grasse. The denouement of the story, a blood-stirring fight scene, one of the best ever shown on the silver sheet, helps to make the % picture a noteworthy contribution to the screen. In “Uncharted Channels” H. B. Warner, as Timothy Webb, proves that clothes do not make the man, and that the man in overalls stands the same chance for success that his more finely garmented brother does. It is while in overalls that Mr. Warner fights, loves and succeeds in becoming the owner of a great manufacturnig plant and winning the lovely and wealthy heroine. The bill includes gazette, comedy, interest and concluding chapter of “Bride 13”.
