TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. At a meeting of the Taranaki Hockey Association, convened for the purpose of reconsidering the sufjpension of the five Hawera Rival players, correspondence was read from the New Zealand Association and Taranaki's delegate, pointing out that the association had dealt, with the wrong persons and intimating the New Zealand Council’s decision of upholding the appeal. The council directed a rehearing of the players and also that the Rivals Club bo dealt with. After discussion, the association decided that, seeing that the, suspension had operated its full time and that the suspended players had already been penalised, no good reason existed for not 1 lifting the suspension. A motion was passed that the suspension be lifted and that all record of the suspension in the association’s books be deleted. A further emotion was passed that the Hawera Rivals Club be severely reprimanded and that the matter proceed no further. The final fixture match for tho cup will take place al. Hawera at 3 p.m. on Thursday between Eltham and Kaponga. THE NORDEN CUP MATCH. The contest for the Norden Cup between the Taranaki and Feilding Unions took place on the Marton Park on Saturday, and resulted in a win for Taranaki by tirree goals to Folding's one. The. ground was very muddy and during the game hail fell. There was a fair attendance. Feilding (holders) —A. Smart, A. Bray, R. Hunter, A. V. Brown, C. Sutcliffe, H. W. Griffin, E. Chadwick, M. Hoarefl, C. Burgess, A. Simmonds, B. Hobday. Taranaki (challengers)—K. Pennington, A. R. Frethey, N. Priest, M. Henrickson, W. Bennie, L. Page, F. Nicholls, E. Foreman, C. Humphries, L. Thoumine, and T. Bennie. Taranaki had the best of the game throughout the first spell, and Priest scored three goals by splendid wprk. T!?e Taranaki goalkeeper (Bennie) repeatedly saved his side by fine kicking when scores seemd inevitable. The local goalkeeper also saved on many occasions ,and the long hitting by Con Burgess was a treat to witness, and he was well supported by Huston, Hoare, and Griffin. The second spell was a hard tussle, and Feilding livened up considerably, and narrowly missed scoring on several occasions. From a struggle in the circle Huston secured and cleverly shot a goal. Both teams were aggressive, and play shifted continuously from one end of the field to the other, Burgess being prominent throughout. Smart had hard luck in slipping after he had taken the ball by a fine dribble well down the field, when a goal seemed certain. The Taranaki team, as a whole, played splendidly, and well deserved their win. > Messrs. Fisher (Wanganui) and Grade (Marton) refereed.

Th# team were entertained at a smoke concert in the Druids’ Hall on Saturday evening, when a very pleasant time was spent, in honoring the usual loyal toasts, which were interspersed with song, story, and recitation. The cup was presented to the winning team amidst great enthusiasm, and the Taranaki team were pleased at ttelr victory.—Star.
