BOXING.

TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY. Interest in the Taranaki Boxing Association’s tournament increases as the date draws nearer. The coming tournament is expected to he the best yet arranged by the local association. The amateur programme is a big one, and the contestants in every case arc good boxers. The professional bout is expected to be exciting and fast from the start. Members of the association arc reminded of their privileges, and they should book their seats without delay; 10s seats can be reserved at Collier's .without any extra charge. The first meeting of the newly-formed New Plymouth Athletic Association will be held on the High School grounds on October 22. The programme will be published In due course.
