CARPENTIER’S PLANS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, August 8. There is considerable discussion regarding Carpentier’s future plans. There is some talk of his fighting in London, possibly against George Cook or Moran. TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Boxing Association was held at New Plymouth last night. Present: Messrs. E. Jackson (in the chair), M. V. Stagpoole, JR. Barlow, J. W. Kurta. It. Paul, W. Whitaker, J. N. Stephenson, T. P. Smith, Murdoch, Reid, J. Garcia, and E. Clarke (secretary). Additional amateur bouts were arranged as follows: Welter-weight, A. Duggan (Hawera) and R. Fitzsimmons (Matapu) ; heavy-weight. Mills (Riverlea) and McDonald (Dunedin). Notification was received that the Hawera Spoils and Pastimes Club was putting on a tourney on August 25. The secretary reported that trophies had heen received from Mr. J. Sutherland, Mayor of Inglewood, and Mr. C. H. Weston. Mr. E. Jackson also offered a meaui to be given to the most scientific boxer in the amateur contests. Mr. F. Willis was elected a member of the association. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mr. Geo. Richardson in the loss he has sustained in the death of his son. « McAsey is back from Wellington, where he has been undergoing preparation at the bauds of Fritz Holland. L. Cadman is expected to arrive in New Plymouth to-day.
