FARMER’S TRAGIC DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ashburton, Last Night. John Smith, aged 42, a farmer and a trotting horse owner, of Elgin, committed suicide to-day, apparently placing a gun in his mouth and blowing the top of his skull to pieces. Smith, who was married and had one child, had been ailing lately, but he hud no financial worries.
