Received August 8, 8.45 p.m. London, August 8. • The Olympic Association, replying to the Amateur Rowing Association, says the association’s real motive appears to be a deterimination to maintain the antiquated amateur definition, excluding from the ranks of amateurs many oarsmen against whom the onlyobjection is that they earn, or have, earned, a living by manual work.—Aus.-N.Z.
