HAMILTON MARKET. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., report:— At Hamilton on Thursday, July. 28, we had a large entry of sheep, but only a moderate entry of cattie. In general terms the tone of the market was dull. Beef was much on the basis of last week. Steers made from £8 2s 6d to £lO, cows to £8 15s, 3-year steers (small entry) £5 to £5 17s 6d, 2-year steers £3 to £3 16s, 2-year empty heifers £3 15s to £4 15s. Fat sheep were extremely dull and the bulk of the offering was passed in. The top price for wethers was £l, (medium weight) store wethers 2-tooth 14s 3d. Lambs were in fair demand, making up to 14s 10d for forward sorts. Stores from 9s 6d to 10s 6d, ewes in lamb seem. J in better demand although values did not improve to any great extent. Pigs sold at about last weeks rates, baconers realising from £4 10s to £7 10s, porkers £2 10s to £3 15s, slips 26s to £2 2s 6d, weauers 7s to 225.
