SELLING SEDITIOUS PAMPHLET. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 29. Patrick Hickey was fined £5 and John Glover £2 for publishing and selling a pamphlet said to be of a seditious intention. The case was dismissed when first before the Court, but that decision was reversed by the Full Court.
HAMILTON BURGLARY. Hamilton, July 29. John Young has been charged with being responsible for the recent burglary, when £lOB worth of jewellery was stolen from the window of Bernard Kissen, pawnbroker. Evidence was given that the jewellery was recovered from under a grass sod at Claudelands show grounds, and that accused was seen in the locality by railwaymen on the day of the burglary. Accused was also identified by a young woman as the man she saw taking the jewellery from the broken window. Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial.
