THE PEOPLE’S. ‘■THE CHICKEN IN THE CASE.” The acting of Owen Moore in the Selznick production “The Chicken *rn the Case.” reveals a cleverly, developed gift for the handling of straight farce. The story is full of domestic complications, and is a continuous bubble of merriment throughout. The chicken is the means to an end, being the novel method of a young man of scraping an acquaintance with the charming young lady next door, with whom he has fallen violently in love. The fact that lie lias already borrowed his chum’s wife, in order to draw a legacy which he can only obtain when he is married, takes a considerable amount of explaining to the girl in the question, and furnishes plenty of amusement to the onlooker. "■The Chicken in the Case” commences at the matinee this afternoon ond shows again to-night. Supporting pictures include a two reel Christie comedy and two topical pictures.
