COST OF AIRSHIPS.
UPKEEP OF BRITISH FLEET. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-rCopyrigtt. Received July 29, 5.5 p.m. London, July 28. Mr. F. E. Guest (Air Minister, has stated that the total cost of the construction, maintenance, housing, personnel and overhead charges in regard, to airships from October 22, when they were taken over from the Admiralty, amounted to £2,266,000.
Replying to Mr. Johnson Hicks in the Ilour.e of Commons, Mr. Guest said-that if the Imperial Conference’s decision was unfavorable he could not hold out hope of further postponement of the decision to scrap the airships.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
