The Poles are now i reported to be starting a fourth insurree--1 tion, relying on French support. i The Poles directed their attack mainly against the communications between Breslau and Ratibon, where the railway track ; was barred and a German express held [ U P by gunfire and forced to return. Serious conflicts occurred in various districts, with varying results. Thousands of insurgents ! are concentrating and forming a large [army.
The Germans accuse the French authorities of arming Polish ammunition trains, providing six-inch guns, and refusing to assist the Italians, who \ were also attacked by the Poles. —Aus.-N.ZI Cable Assn.
ANGLO FRENCH RELATIONS. FEAR OF A RUPTURE. QUESTION OF SENDING TROOPS. Received July ?8, 8.20 p.m. London, July 28. A serijus hitch has occurred in the Anglo-French negotiations regarding Sile sia. The French Ambassador visited Lord Curzon (Secretary of Foreign Affairs) yesterday, and intimated that the French Government cannot decide on a meeting of the Supreme Council on August 4 unless the question of sending troops is settled first. The Daily Express’ Paris correspondent says this development has alarmed Paris, which fears an Anglo-Frenci« rupture. He adds that it is hinted in Paris that the council may not meet. —Aus.-N.Z. Briand has announced that the meeting of the Supreme Council on August 4 would only be held on condition that Mr. Lloyd George agreed to the question c-f reinforcements far Upper Silesia having first place on the agenda. ;
