THE PEOPLE’S. George Walsh, the popular star of William Fox, will appear at tne People’s for the last time to-night in a new story from the pen of Thomas F. Fallon, entitled “Dynamite Allen”. The scenes are laid in the mining regions of Pennsylvania. It is a highly dramatic tale, tense, and absorbing, with a delightful romance running like a golden thread through many sensa- '• tional and thrilling situations. One of the most astounding climaxes occurrs when i Walsh, driving a locomotive, plunges through an open bridge, leaping from the cal- as the engine sinks in the river. The • destruction of a large residence by fire jof course is spectacular. One of the ! greatest thrills, according to report, is Isupplied when Welsh, trapped in the bo. tom of a mine, discovers chat it is being ■flooded. The programme also include a : five-reel comedy drama, “The Blushing Bride,” starring Eileen Percy. EVERYBODY’S. j To-night at Everybody’s Lili Hart will (star in his greatest Western picture, “The I Toll Gate”, a stirring story that shows the j opulan star to the best advantage—:in fact, the picture has been endorsed by ! Bill himself as his greatest production. There are some, excellent supporting pictures, including a two-reel Mack Senuett comedy, entitled “Oh! My Goodness”. Another episode of the popular “Bride 13” serial, and the Topical Gazette. Patrons ’ desiring to reserve seat- can do so at Collier’s. EMPIRE THEATRE. ENGLISH PIERROTS. “The ■ popular coterie of entertainers known, as “The English Pierrots” appear to have an inexhaustible repertoire of music, song and humor,” says the Auckland Herald during the recent season of seven weeks played in the northern city. This well-known combination will appear in New Plymouth at the Empire Theatre, commencing a three-night season tomorrow, and will present all new pro i grammes, which include excerpts from 1 opera, dances, solos, quartettes and novel- ' ties. The new programmes are run on ; revue lines, under the title of “Bits and Pieces”. It is the latest amusement idea from England, America and Australia. The company have secured Edmund Warring ton, a London producer, to stage thei" new revues. This player will appear in many orf his original sketches, including “A Dud Dream”, a military play that is still showing throughout England, and which was shown before the Prince of Wales in London with Edmund Warrington in the original role. ‘‘A Dud Dream” was played . for two weeks in Auckland and seven nights in Dunedin, and was unanimously declared t by the Press and the public as being the limit of laughter. Many of the old favorites, Chas. E. Lawrence. David J. Lyle, Leslie Austin, Roy Cook, Ena Gordon. Joy Rolls and Lillian Colenzo are ; still with the Pierrots, whilst the newcomers include Moya Crossley, Isa Crossley and Harry Schofield. The box plans i are now open at Collier’s.
