PACIFIC PROBLEMS.
ACTING-PREMIER’S VIEWS. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Wellington, July 23. The Acting-Prime Minister (£ir Francis Bell) states that he has not heard anything of steps being taken for holding a preliminary conference in London on Pacific matters in preparation for the Washington conference. Personally he thought the idea a good one. There would be great difficulty in Mr. Massey attending the Washington Conference, and, as the interests of New Zealand and Australia in the Pacific were so vital, it was important that their views should be clearly formulated at a preliminary conference to be held in London before Mr. Massey’s departure.
