Tn a case in which the licensee of a wine bar was prosecuted for selling liquor after six o’clock the magistrate ruled no offence had been committed, and that al) publicans were empowered to keep open till eleven o’clock for the sale of liquor, as the referendum provided for in the Act had not been taken. The Minister of Justice says the magistrate will be asked to state the case for the opinion of the Supreme Court, and, pending final determination, proceedings will be taken against all persons keeping open after six o’clock.
