WEDDING.

SOMMERS—STEFFERT. A pretty wedding took place at the Catholic church, Manaia, on June 2, when Miss Kate Eileen Steffert, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steffert, • Inaha, was married to Air. H. J. Scifnniers, son of Airs. Simons, of Inaha. The Rev. Father Kelly officiated. Thu bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty dress of pale heliotrope crepe de chine. The skirt was accordeon pleated. The bodice was of silk net crepe de chine and silver trimmings, the train of satin being lined with cream. The bridal veil was held in place with a circlet ol orange blossoms. She carried a posy of white flowers with streamers of white satin ribbon. Aliases Lily and Elsie Steffert, sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids. The former wore a white silk dres< and pink and black hat, the latter pale pink georgette and black lace hat. Also in attendance were two lift! j girls, Norah Steffert, sister of the bride, and Jean Laurenson. niece of the bride, who acted as train-bearers, both wearing white silk and net dresses with sash of pale heliotrope net, and wreaths of tiny white flowers encircling their heads. Air. R. Donald, of Manaia. attended the bridegroom as best man. The happy couple left for Auckland, the bride travelling in a brown costume, trimmed with black braid and a blue and pink hat.—Star.
