A meeting yesterday of the committee appointed by Mr. Massey’s conference between New Zealand producers and the shipowners exhaustively reviewed tie position of shipments and freights generally from both points of view. It was agreed that the questions of freights and cargoes b. again considered by tho New Zealand producers, not later than the first week of next January. The shipowners expressed readiness to give every consideration to the position then, irrespective of the existing contracts and with reference to such reductions in the working costs of steamers as may then have taken place. It was also agreed that negotiations in regard to the renewal of the current contracts take place at the same time.
