SCHEME FOR ROYAL SHOW. By Telegraph.—l’ress Association Wellington, July 21. At the conference of the Council of Agriculture to-day it was resolved that a Royal Agricultural Show of New Zealand be held alternately in the North and South Islands, the first show to be held in November, 192*2 provided finance can be arranged. The Government will be asked to give a £ for £ subsidy up to £5OO and affiliated societies will be appealed to for contributions, at the rate of 2 per cent, of the subscriptions of financial members. Breeders’ Societies would be asked to donate additional prize money for the breeds in which they were respectively interested. The minim"m prize money offered at the show should be at least £lOO9 for championship classes. The show should he held alternately in the North and South Islands and a ballot taken between the Canterbury and Manawa tn Associations for the first and second shows, a ballot to be taken in 1923 between eligible societies in either island for the 1924 and subsequent shows.
