CENTRAL SCHOOL CONCERT.
CONCLUDING PERFORMANCE. The second performance by the Cen-« tral School pupils attracted another; i crowded attendance to the Empire The- | atre last night. All the items given received a splendid reception, and there were many encores. At the conduaion the children gave three cheers for the pianist (Miss Griffin) and the conductor (Mr. R. Laurie Cooper). The pupils also gave a round of cheers for the teacher.-. The staff of the school wish to thank the conductor (Mr. Cooper) lor the time and skill he devoted to the production of the entertainment, the trustees of Whiteley Hall for the free use of that building for dressing purposes, Mr. F. Coleman for the erection of the gallery to accommodate the 300 pupils, Messrs. Collier and Co. for the loan of piano and other assistance, Mr. G. Saunders foi many courtesies, the numerous ushers and doorkeepers, the parents for their ready response to the teachers* suggestions, and the pupils themselves for their zeal and loyal co-operation.
